Feherty and the Great Groundhog Battle
June 29th, 2009
This week, Joe Leo writes in to ask David, “In your history as a player and commentator, what is the best practical joke you’ve been a part of?” Turns out it involves swapped hotel room keys, an injured groundhog, and Payne Stewart. We’ll leave it at that. Click here if you would like to ask David a question of your own.

Thank you for a great story. With all the stuff going on off the course I’m amazed that any of you were able to actually play golf!
Great memory of Payne as well. I was too young to have watched him much, but it is indeed rare to find a man who was so universally loved. Even after one that will put a half dead groundhog in your room!
Thanks again,

It’s these types of stories that make you a legend, Feherty. Fantastic stuff. And these particular stories unveil a side of Payne that people were just starting to see before his tragic death. Sounds like the type of friend that everyone wants, but no one wants to turn their back on!
Great stuff. Thanks for sharing.
