Here’s some photos from when I walked with Camilo today at The Honda Classic. Check out his Speed Pro S driver in his bag. You’ll also notice his Carbon CB (3 iron) and Cobra Forged CB (4-PW). Camilo is sporting a new bag for the Florida swing. It’s in the colors of the Colombian flag.

Geoff has some new Cobra MB Pro (prototype) irons in the bag. They are so sweet!!!

The ninth, a long par four, is known for its well-placed fairway bunkers. Also for the great view of the Riviera club house.
The fourth hole is a long par three, which Hogan called the “Best par three in America”.

During the Pro Am day at The Nissan Open, Geoff was first to tee off #10 at 6:50am. Camilo teed off around 12:10pm. Ian and Kevin spent the day working on their game.
Ernie Banks (a.k.a. Mr. Cub) stopped by the trailer. This is one positive person. He was ready to get a tryout for Bryan Parker (Cobra Tour Tech) with the Dodgers. For those of you who don’t know, Bryan played 3 years of baseball for his beloved Washington State Cougars. He was trying to talk me into playing on tour. He said, “Why aren’t you out here?” I told him I’m out here every week. We both laughed.
I have flown over 35,000 miles since New Years Eve. This will be my last redeye flight for a while. All of the reps who live on the East Coast are ready for the Florida Swing. For us Floridians, yes it is great to be a Florida Gator, driving will be the norm for events in Palm Beach, Orlando, Tampa, and Miami. For all those reps on the west coast, enjoy your last week of easy travel. Your time is gonna come.

The tournament formally known as The LA Open is a lesson in highs and lows. First there is Riviera, one of the truly great courses and clubs that we attend each year. The first tee is one of the best starting places in golf. You stand on the tee, which is 70 feet above the fairway, with the pro shop, dining area, and putting green behind you.
The first hole, a short par 5, is an easy beginning hole. The tee is elevated 75 feet above the fairway, tempting players to hit driver, but out of bounds on the left side makes players think twice. Scores range from eagle to double bogey.
The par 3 fourth that Ben Hogan called the best in golf. The crazy green on the par 3 sixth that has an amazing amount of tilt and a bunker in the middle of the green. I can remember Bobby Jones hitting shots to the ninth and up 18 in his instructional series. Those are the good things.
It’s a 3 mile drive to the hotel and it takes about an hour to get there at rush hour. It would be quicker to walk. Bryan and I just decided to leave the hotel before 7am to not get stuck. But it’s worth it for 1 event each year. And the walk from the range up the hill to the clubhouse is a challenge for all of us in a hurry to help out our players.

Today I walked with Geoff. It was the first time I have seen him hit his new Cobra MB Pro (Prototype) irons. They are a new forging we came up with for our staffers. I have to thank the Cobra R&D department, Poulter, and Geoff for their input. This iron is a beauty. It is the best looking and best performing MB iron I have worked with. Geoff has been testing his new King Cobra Pro D driver. We are close to getting him fit.
Next week, Geoff defends his WGC Accenture Match Play Championship in Tucson. It’s kind of interesting the event has been moved here as Geoff didn’t get to defend his Tucson Open title last year, because of qualifying for the match play. He will have a double defense of sorts. I guess he plays really well in late Feb.
Kevin Na is very happy with his new King Cobra Speed Pro D driver. We made a change in loft to an 8.5 head which has decreased his vertical landing. Now the ball is rolling a good distance, adding to his overall distance.
Camilo is ready to play as well. His game looks to be rounding into form after a good finish at Pebble. He is also very happy with his King Cobra Speed Pro S 8.5. Matty Bednarski, Camilo’s caddie, looks nervous as I approach him with any drivers in hand. I think he is very happy with Camilo’s gamer.
Ian made it back to the US after a few weeks back home in England. He says they were under a load of snow and showed me picks of his family building snowmen. One had Ian’s custom headcover on top. Classic!!!

The members of Cobra Golf’s USPGA Tour Staff gathered in Palm Springs, CA to shoot the 2007 edition of our TV commercials. David Feherty spent some time with each of our USPGA Tour Staff developing the new TV commercials. They turned out great! I think you will really enjoy the footage. They will start airing on TV in March. David Feherty did a great job. He is an amazing entertainer and all the USPGA Tour Staff really enjoys spending time with him.
We shot the TV commercials from 7:00am until around 7:00pm. Ten TV commercials were shot at Desert Willow Golf Club in Palm Springs, CA. Look for the new TV commercials to start airing in March.

Wednesday (02.07.07)
Chris Tuten – Cobra Tour Rep – I got up early and took the plane from a Cobra TV Commercial shoot back to Pebble with a quick stop in San Francisco. The food court by gate 79 is amazing, the best gourmet fast food around. Dean Wilson and I flew into Monterey. He had his Masters information with him. He must be exited to be playing in his first Masters. Camilo will make his debut also. He is pumped.
On Wednesday, Camilo and J.B. both came by the trailer. It was raining and the trailer provides our staff and their caddies a place to call home with Internet access, healthy snacks, and a place to store things like extra clubs.
Camilo finished T11 and J.B. finished T16.
Also on Sunday, Camilo’s brother Manuel won the 2007 Gator Invitational in Gainesville. It’s the first collegiate victory for Manny. Also the Florida Gators won the team title. Way to go!!!
